WNFBOWS Referee Recruitment

The unit supplies assigned officials to hundreds of girl's high school soccer games in their fall season. New officials are always needed. Candidates will be trained prior to the season and you will be well prepared to work games.

Background Information

Rookie Training sessions will give you a review of the Rules of Soccer and a thorough understanding of what is expected of all our officials.

We will post dates when available.

If you know of anyone who is interested in becoming a referee, contact Bill Sciolino (912-1200). Any USSF referee who wants to join our unit needs to contact John Kramer for a one day seminar for the review of different rules.

The annual dues of the referee unit are $60. Each official must attend the AGM meeting early in fall, prior to the start of each season. These meeting conduct unit business and review new rules. All officials must participate in the annual testing.

Section Six has implemented a mandatory fingerprinting and background check policy under the S.A.V.E. legislation of NYS. This process must be completed and cleared for an official to receive game assignments. This must be initiated this June.

Games are played throughout sites in Erie County (ECIC, Catholic league, Niagara Frontier League, private schools) and Niagara County (Niagara/Orleans League). You do get an opportunity to advise us of what area you can be reasonably asked to do games. We also ask your availability for assignments for the months of September & October so that you only get assigned when you are available.

You will need to buy your own uniforms and supplies.

If you have any futher questions please contact any unit officer. We are always actively seeking interested candidates. Please share this information with anyone you know who may be interested.
